Pilates is an exercise system which starts by activating the postural muscles helping you become body aware. Once you can control a good postural base exercises are progressed by challenging control, balance, co-ordination and strength. Mobility and flexibility are also targeted. Movements are flowing and controlled meaning it is a safe form of exercise for most people. The exercises can be performed at various degrees of difficulty allowing you to work at a level that suits.
Classes are led by physiotherapists who have undergone training with the APPI (Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute) and range from beginner to advanced levels. There are also classes for specific sports groups such as horse riders. We also run classes at the work place. A great way to ease the stresses on the body from sitting working at a computer!!!
Classes run Monday to Friday with daytime and evening availability.

We run regular pilates classes for a number of local sports clubs including swimmers and gymnasts. Improved body awareness and core stability are integral to an athlete’s performance. These classes are specifically designed to incorporate sport specific exercises.
